Industrial visit was carried out at Lazza ice cream food Pvt. Ltd. Bangalore on 04-12-2018. The students of MBA 2017-19 batch T5 students along with two faculties were visited the Organisation. The company is located at Mysore in Bangalore State. The company was founded in 1972 by Mr. M C John a retired senior bureaucrat in the Kerala government The company is a pioneer in the ice cream industry in South India. The first factory was started in Kochi and today has over 28 factories spread across South India. The 22 factories put together has a production capacity that is among the top 5 in the country. The company has also started overseas operations in parts of Middle East and Africa.
Each local factory is a stand alone unit that produces icecream for the local market. There is a central organization however that offers consulting advice to the local factory on the various marketing and technical aspects. This model enables the local factory to be a part of a national brand and benefit from the years of expertise of the central organization at the same time retain the innovation and entrepreneurship needed to succeed in their local market.
In fact 70% of our icecream is consumed within 72 hours of manufacturing, mg it the next best thing to eating homemade icecream.
