                              Course Outcomes

LMIMS (Lourdes Matha Institute of Management Studies), the management department of Lourdes Matha College of Science and Technology, has been offering management courses since 2004, having graduated 15 batches till date. Most of its alumni are working in leading positions in various corporates in India. LMCST is currently managed by the Archdiocese of Changanacherry and is headed by Rev. Father Dr. Tomy Joseph, the erstwhile Principal of the reputed S.B.College, Changanacherry. Under the new leadership, LMCST is poised to scale up greater heights in the years to come.
LMIMS has tied up with XIME Bangalore, rated among the top 1% of Business Schools in the country for its excellence in management education. XIME Bangalore was established in 1991 by the XLRI and Harvard educated Prof. J. Philip, former Director, IIM Bangalore and former Dean, XLRI. Prof. Philip, recognized as the “Doyen of Management Education” in Karnataka by The Hindu, has been instrumental in taking XIME to greater heights over the 28 years of its existence and today its illustrious alumni occupy leadership positions in organizations like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, KPMG, JP Morgan etc.
Prof. J. Philip will be the Chief Mentor to LMIMS and also will teach at LMIMS. A number of faculty from XIME will be involved in taking courses at LMIMS and the entire program will be managed by the leadership from XIME. Dr. J. Alexander, IAS (Retd.), former Chief Secretary and Cabinet Minister of Karnataka state, is the Chairman of LMIMS.
This collaboration brings with it enhanced program delivery apart from a new focus on soft skills to make the students employable. It will leverage XIME Bangalore’s corporate connect to bring in better industry linkage and placement opportunities to LMIMS graduates.

Eclectic Approach to Teaching
A variety of methods are used to teach students. Lecture sessions are supplemented with case studies, individual and team exercises, live projects, assignments, seminar presentations, business games, etc. Due emphasis is given to team assignments, team discussions and teamwork so as to make students good team leaders and team players.

Faculty
LMIMS provides great emphasis on the holistic development of every student and believes that faculty has a huge role in achieving this. We recruit faculty with a mix of industry and teaching experience, who are able to link theory with practice and enable students to appreciate the nuances of management and its applications in the industry. We have faculty specialized in Marketing, Operations, Finance, HR and IT who are exposed to the latest teaching methodologies including the case study method and experiential learning. We also have faculty who can train students in soft-skills to make them better prepared for the corporate world.

The Campus Recruitment Programme at our Institute gives an opportunity to showcase its talent pool to the corporate world. With the new collaboration, we are in a position to expand this network to reach a larger pool of recruiters for our graduates.
