POSTER MAKING COMPETITION
On the occasion of the 74th Independence Day of India on 15th August, NSS units organized a Poster making Competition. About 65 students from colleges under KTU Participated. Mr.Mahesh Krishna V S of S7EEE,LMCST won the first prize.
WORLD NATURE CONSERVATION DAY :
On the Occasion of World Nature Conservation day on July 28th 2020,all volunteers were called upon to plant trees at their homes. Everybody understood our wealth that was being dried up ever day and planted trees with that recognition. JOIN THE 1000 TREE CAMPAIGN was from 28thJuly to 4th August.
PAPER BAG DAY:
From July 12 to July31,NSS Technical Cell of LMCST Unit No 525 &529 organized a challenge for volunteers on the occasion of Paper bag day. As part of this,NSS Volunteers made more than two thousand paper bags at home.The tutorial “How to make Paper Bag “was taken by Prof.Sajith Krishnan R and was shared to all NSS volunteers
NATIONAL DOCTORS DAY
NSS TECHNICAL CEL LMCST observed NATIONAL DOCTOR’S DAY on Juy 1st 2020 as a tribute to the real warriors in corona war front.
- INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST DRUG ABUSE :
On the occasion of world Anti-Drug on 26th June ,all NSS Volunteers learned about drug abuse and took an anti-drug pledge.
As part of International Yoga Day , Webinar was conducted on the Topic ‘Yoga for well being’ on 21/6/2020 at 10 am.Mr. R Sajeev interacted with the volunteers via google meet.
NATIONAL READING DAY
NSS Technical Cell LMCST observed NATIONAL READING DAY on 19.6.2020.Several short stories poems articles were posted by NSS volunteers to encourage the reading habit among the students.
Fifty Volunteers registered as blood donor on June 14 to mark World Blood Donor Day with the message ”Save lives by Donating Blood”.
- WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY CELEBRATION:
On 5th June 2020 as part of world environment day, NSS units conducted a challenging Programme. All the volunteers, non-volunteers,Faculty associated planted saplings in their homes.
CLEANLINESS PROGRAMME
NSS Technical Cell LMCST organised a CLEANLINESS PROGRAMME on 19.5.2020 on account of spread of Covid -19.NSS volunteers actively participated in the programme by cleaning the premises of their house.
COVID AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
NSS Technical Cell LMCST organised a Covid Awareness Campaign on 19.3.2020.On account of it a poster was circulated among the NSS volunteers to give awareness
- MAPATHON : NSS Volunteers added the details about their houses, roads, multistory buildings, hospitals etc in open street map software. This Mapathon work is done for mapping the details about the places which can be used during disasters such as flood, soil erosion etc
- MASK CHALLENGE : NSS Volunteers made thousands of masks as part of social activity in connection with covid 19 defensive measures.

A team of five selected to lead college’s blood cell unit as part of the formation of KTU NSS Blood cell.
Blood Donation Camp on 20.02.2020
As part of Patroness’s Day Celebration of Lourdes Matha Group of Institutions NSS TECHNICAL CELL of Lourdes Matha College of Science and Technology organised a Blood Donation Camp on 20.02.2020. Dr.P.P Mohanlal,Principal delivered the presidential address and Rev.Fr.Sony Mundunadakkal,Executive Director inaugurated the blood donation camp.More than 50 students actively participated in the camp and donated the blood for a noble cause.
NSS Technical Cell of LMCST organised a blood donation camp on 10.10.2019.NSS volunteers and other students of LMCST actively participated in the Blood Donation Camp.LMCST Executive Director Rev.Fr.Sony Mundunadakkal inaugurated the camp.Around 150 students participated in the camp and 61 students donated blood.
Nutrition Awareness Rally – NSS Technical Cell – Unit No 525 and 529 of Lourdes Matha College of Science and Technology, Kuttichal conducted “Nutrition Awareness Rally” on September 30th 2019 @ 02:30pm from Kuttichal – Junction, giving awareness for the youth about nutritional values. Kuttichal – Gramapanchayath President Sri. G. Manikantan inaugurated the rally in the presence of Standing Committee Chairman Sri. Sudhir Kumar, Director Rev. Fr. Dr. Tomy Joseph Padinjareveettil, Executive Director Rev. Fr. Sony Mundunadakkal, and Principal Dr. P. P. Mohanlal.
‘Awareness on Nutrition Values’ – NSS Technical Cell, LMCST: As part of Golden Jubilee Celebration of NSS Technical Cell, LMCST, organised a session on ‘Awareness on Nutrition Values’ by Dr. Sumi Mary Varghese, Asst. Prof., Lourdes Matha Institute of Hotel Management, Kuttichal.
The Golden Jubilee of NSS was celebrated by LMCST NSS Technical cell on September 24 th 2019. Fr.Tomy Joseph Padinjareveettil,Director, Lourdes Matha Group of Institutions inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp.Principal, Dr.P P Mohanlal presided over the function. Fr.Sony Mundunadakkal,Exe.Director, Lourdes Matha Group of Institutions and Prof.Susanth S G programme officer felicitated the function.
Awareness campaign on Chickenpox: NSS Technical Cell,Lourdes Matha College of Science and Technology Kuttichal organised an awareness campaign on chickenpox on 1/4/2019.The function was presided over by Dr.P.P. Mohanlal Principal LMCST and Fr.Dr.Sony Mundunadakkal Executive Director Lourdes Matha Group of Institutions delivered the felicitation.The programme was inaugurated by Dr.Jaya David, Medical Officer, Govt.Homeo Dispensary Aryanad by distributing the preventive medicine to NSS programme officer Susanth S G and Soorya S R and nss volunteer secretaries Neethu R Nair and Aparna S Nair.Preventive homeo medicine against chicken pox was given to staff and students of LMCST.
STATE ANNUAL MEET: NSS Volunteer Secretary Abhishek S (Unit no 529) and Mahesh Krishna V S(Unit no 525) attended the State Annual Meet organised by LBS institute of Technology for Women ,Poojapura on 26th and 27th of July 2019.
