Industrial visit was carried out at Kerala Minerals and metals limited, Chavara on 05-11-2018. The students of MBA 2018-20 batch T1 with 21 students left for visit at 6.30 am and took about three hours to cover the distance. The company is located in Chavara at Kollam dist. KMML is an ISO 9001, ISO 1400 and OHSAS 18001 certified hazardous industrial plant.Kerala Minerals and Metals Ltd is an integrated titanium dioxide manufacturing public sector undertaking. Its operations comprise mining, mineral separation, synthetic rutile and pigment-production plants. Apart from producing rutile-grade titanium dioxide pigment for various types of industries, it also produces other products like ilmenite, rutile, zircon, sillimanite, synthetic rutile etc. It is one of the best performing Public Sector Units in India.It took almost two hour to see the complete set of production, prior to the visit the safety department gave a detailed lecture about the activities and the safety precautions and measures to be followed while visiting the plant. The visit concluded by afternoon. It was an enriching experience in getting live exposure of industry which will help in further career enhancements.
As part of the Industrial -Institution Interaction programme,2016-2018 T6 MBA Batch students of Department of Management Studies, LMCST had visited the Eastern Condiments Pvt.Ltd. Adimaly and Tea factories located at Munnar hill station from 19th April 2018 to 21st April 2018.Also the students got ample opportunity to discuss with the officials of concerned institution and gained knowledge in their study area. The faculties Mr. Ranjith Thomas (Assistant Professor, LMCST), Dr. Anuja.J. A (Assistant Professor, LMCST) accompanied with the students.
Industrial visit was carried out at KLDB HI –TECH Farm on 28-07-2017. The students of MBA 2016-18 batch T4 with 16 students left for visit at 9:00 am and took about three hours to cover the distance. The company is located in Kulathupuzha Ex-Service at Kollam dist.The diary owns approximately 150 cows. It produces around 500 tons of milk per day. The farm, which shows the history of milk production till the mission milk the next revolution. The students got an opportunity to understand the process of milk production. They understood the history of dairy industry, production and processing of milk and its products. It took almost an hour to see the complete set of production. The visit concluded by afternoon. The industrial visit of MBA S-3 2015-17 batch was carried out in Bangalore and the students visited Bharath Electronics Ltd in Bangalore, which helped in gathering more information about the defense equipment’s manufactured in India and also gathered ajir functioning if the organization. And students also visited the tourists places like Coorg, Chikmanglore, Banglore wonderla and Ootty which was memorising experience and made them to explore more things.
