INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY
International yoga day was celebrated at Lourdes Matha College of Science and Technology on June 21st 2018. DAY -1
23.12.17 Saturday
The NSS Technical Cell of Lourdes Matha College of Science and Technology started the seven day annual special camp at Loyola School Mukundara.The morning session started with camp registration at 8am.Flag hoisting was performed by Rev Fr.Jose Viruppel President LMCES in the presence of Prof Hormese ,Director LMCST,Fr.Joseph Kalleppallil S J Manager Loyola School, Prof Susanth S G Programme Officer and Prof Soorya S R Associate Programme Officer. The official inauguration started at 9 am with the prayer song by our NSS volunteers. The seven day camp was inaugurated by Rev Fr.Jose Viruppel President LMCES and felicitation address were made by Prof Hormese ,Director LMCST, Fr. Joseph Kalleppallil S J, Manager Loyola School and Prof Daisylet ,Camp Director. The function came to an end with the vote of Thanks by Mr Adarsh R Nair , Volunteer Secretary.

An Academic session by Dr P M C Nair , Professor SIST& SEP Resource person of Energy Management Centre was arranged on the topic “5th fuel ensuring Domestically”.This session helped the NSS volunteers to think about energy management and it was fruitful. After the dinner the Ice breaking was there which was coordinated by Prof Daisylet, Mr Adarsh R Nair and Ms Fathima Subair.The first day came to an end with the camp evaluation at 10.30 pm.

24.12.17 Sunday
The second day of our camp started with the flag hoisting by Prof Priyanka C P Asst Prof., Dept of EEE, LMCST. The team in charge of morning assembly was Jasmine and Dove Team. After the morning assembly Yoga session were handled by Prof Susanth S G. The NSS volunteers were trained with “THADASANAM “
An academic session on the topic “NSS as a platform for building social engineers” was handled by Mr S Sreenath, NSS Trainer. The session was so interesting and inspiring. The session provided the NSS volunteers to build self confidence.
The NSS volunteers went for community service to Thevancode, Vlavetti, Perin kulangara at 2PM .Survey on energy management and waste management were taken.The PMKY aspirants were listed from these wards of Kallikadu Grama Panchayath. The report preparation based on the community service started at 6.45pm .The NSS volunteers shared their experiences they had during the survey. The cultural Programmes were performed by Parrot and daffodils. The second day came to an end with the camp evaluation at 10.15 pm.

25.12.17 Monday
The third day of our camp started with the flag hoisting by Prof Sumitha Rani P R and Prof Lekshmy J Satheesh ,Asst Prof., Dept of Civil Engineering, LMCST. The team in charge of morning assembly was Lotus and Peacock Team. After the morning assembly Yoga session were handled by Prof Susanth S G. The NSS volunteers were trained with “ARTHAKADI CHAKRASAN”
By 9 am a motivational speech on “Role and Importance of NSS in modern society” was given by Prof Daisylet, Camp Director. The session was so interesting and inspiring. The NSS volunteers recognized the responsiblilities they have to deliver in the modern society. The Christmas message was conveyed to the NSS volunteers by Fr Joseph Kallepallil S J, Manager Loyola Sahool at 11am.
The NSS volunteers went for community service to Neyyar Dam for making it Plastic free under the title “PLASTIC FREE NEYYARDAM”at 2PM. The NSS volunteers actively participated in the campaign and made it a grand success.In the mean time the NSS volunteers gave awareness regarding the plastic waste to the gathering over there.The report preparation based on the community service started at 6.45pm .The NSS volunteers shared their experiences they had during the Neyyar Dam visit. The cultural Programmes were performed by Kingfisher and Thulips. The third day came to an end with the camp evaluation at 10.30 pm.

26.12.17 Tuesday
The fourth day of our camp started with the flag hoisting by Prof Jean Dickson ,Asst Prof., Dept of Electrical Engineering, LMCST. The team in charge of morning assembly was Rufflessia and Eagle Team. After the morning assembly Yoga session were handled by Prof Susanth S G. The NSS volunteers were trained with “VRISHASAN”
An Academic session on “Looking forward with confidence ” was delivered by , Er.Jose Ebenezer,Asst Executive Engineer KSEB HRM. The session boosted the confidence and the NSS volunteers were able to set goal for the future.
The NSS volunteers went for community service to Kalottukani, Nirappukala, Neyyardam at 2PM .Survey on energy management and waste management were taken.The PMKY aspirants were listed from these wards of Kallikadu Grama Panchayath. The report preparation based on the community service started at 7pm .The NSS volunteers shared their experiences they had during the survey

27.12.17 Wednesday
The fourth day of our camp started with the flag hoisting by Prof Ambili Jane ,Asst Prof., Dept of Computer Science Engineering, LMCST. The team in charge of morning assembly was Daffodils and Parrot Team. After the morning assembly Yoga session were handled by Prof Susanth S G. The NSS volunteers were trained with “OORDHASAN”
A motivational lecture on “How to become positive” was delivered by , Dr.V Syam Prakash, Principal LMCST at 9 am. The session inspired the NSS volunteers.
At 11am another academic session was arranged by Mr Jobi Kondoor, District Coordinator, Childline Trivandrum on “Inter Personal Relationship and Communication with Participatory Methods”.
The NSS volunteers went for community service to Vavode, Kalippara, Manjadimoodu at 2PM .Survey on energy management and waste management were taken.The PMKY aspirants were listed from these wards of Kallikadu Grama Panchayath. The report preparation based on the community service started at 6.15pm .The NSS volunteers shared their experiences they had during the survey. The cultural Programmes were performed by Jasmine, Dove and Peacock.

The fifth day of our camp started with the flag hoisting by Prof Anjana J ,Asst Prof., Dept of Computer Applications , LMCST. The team in charge of morning assembly was Kingfisher and Tulips Team. After the morning assembly Yoga session were handled by Prof Susanth S G. The NSS volunteers were trained with “SURYANAMASKARAM”
An academic lecture on “Role of an NSS volunteer in Disaster Management” was delivered by ,Prof Roy K Varghese , Professor Dept of Applied Science,LMCST at 9 am. The session gave awareness about the disaster management to the NSS volunteers.
The NSS volunteers went for community service to Mylakkara, Perinjamkadavu, Kallikkadu at 2PM .Survey on energy management and waste management were taken.The PMKY aspirants were listed from these wards of Kallikadu Grama Panchayath. The report preparation based on the community service started at 6.15pm .The NSS volunteers shared their experiences they had during the survey. The cultural Programmes were performed by Reflessia, Eagle and Lotus.

The seventh day of our camp started with the flag hoisting by Prof .Beshiba Wilson ,Asst Prof., Dept of Computer Science Engineering , LMCST.

A motivational talk on “Become Great in Life” was delivered by ,Mr Justin Antony, National Award winning Social Worker Kanya Kumari District , at 9 am. The session enthused the NSS volunteers
The Valedictory function of the seven day camp was at 2pm.The occasion was inaugurated by Ms Sanumathi President Kallikkadu Grama Panchayath. Prof Sajith Krishnan R welcomed the gathering.The presidential address was delivered by Dr V Syam Prakash Principal LMCST.Fr Joseph Kalleppallil Manager Loyola School Poozhanadu and Prof Daisylet Camp Director falicitated the function.Mr Amalshah ,S3 CE was selected as the Best Male Volunteer and Ms Neethu R Nair,S3 CSEwas selected as the best female volunteer and the Best team selected was Daffodils. HELPING HAND FOR Ms SEENATH
As part of community service NSS volunteers identified Ms Seenath, who is suffering from acute Osteoperosis and allied diseases and decided to give financial assistance to her. On account of this our NSS volunteers actively collected sum of Rupees Forty Four Thousand and the cheque for the same was handed over to her by our Principal Dr.V Syam Prakash on 12.10.17 at her residence in the presence of Prof P M Hormese, Director LMCST and Mr Sudheer Kumar,Standing Committee Chairman of Kuttichal Grama Panchayath.

Annual Conference
The annual conference of Programme Officers and Associate Programme Officers were held at Sree Budha College of Engineering Alappuzha on August 26th and 27th .Prof Susanth S G, Prof Sajith Krishnan R, Prof Soorya S R, Prof Ashitha S S attended the programme.
Cancer Detection Camp
On 12.8.17 NSS technical cell along with Snehitha Women Foundation and Christu Jayanthy Charitable Soceity conducted a Cancer Detection Camp.The programme was inaugurated by Mr G Manikandan ,President Kuttichal Grama Panchayath.Director P M Hormese and Dr N A Jose felicitated the function.The office bearers of Christhu Jayanthi Charitable Trust and Dr Reji along with a team of 15 doctors actively participated in the programme.Kuttichal Grama Panchayath Standing Committee Chairman(Health) Mr.Sudheer Kumar addressed the gathering.The event was a grand success with 153 beneficiaries from Manoorkara Village.NSS volunteers organized the camp in a systematic order from registration to consultation.
Awareness CampaignOn 12.8.17 NSS volunteers gave awareness about BHIM app,its installation and about the cancer detection camp scheduled on 12.8.17 to all the houses of Manoorkara Village.The NSS volunteers covered more than 150 houses. NSS volunteers conducted a survey on sanitation facilities available in the village. The volunteers gained idea regarding the social situation present in the community and volunteers came to know about the pathetic situation of some families in our premises and decided to give a helping hand to Ms.Seenath,who is deserted and suffering from an incurable disease.

SAVE WATER CAMPAIGN
NSS volunteers actively participated in the save water campaign from March 2nd to March 8th 2017.Students stick posters of water saving quotes. NSS volunteers placed mugs for effective water usage in the campus.
NSS SPECIAL CAMP-2016
NSS Technical cell of LOURDES MATHA COLLEGE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY, KUTTICHAL organized a 7-day special camp at VILLA NAZARETH ENGLISH MEDIUM SCHOOL, PALAIKONAM, ARYANAD from 24th December 2016 to 30th December 2016. 42 NSS volunteers attended the camp. Many activities were planned and conducted as part of the camp. Our major activity was a banking awareness programme for tribal communities of Kuttichal and Amboori panchayat. We also conducted a “Green Carpet program”- Plastic free Aruvikkara Dam site, as a minor activity. The camp was inaugurated by Mr. Manikantan G (President, Kuttichal Panchayat) and our Principal DR. V Syam Prakash presided over the function.The academic sessions were handled by our Principal DR. V. Syam Prakash, Mr. Sreenath, NSS trainer, Prof. Roy K Varghese, Prof.Daiseylet, Mr.Anilkumar.J S,Mr. Aravind.M (Assistant Manager, Federal Bank), Mr. Jose Ebenezer (Asst. Executive Engineer, HRM-KSEB), DR. P Justin Antony (National Award Winning Social Worker) and Dr. Thankamma P George (Department of Forensic Medicine, Govt. Medical College).As a part of community service, the NSS team actively participated in the plastic free “Green Carpet” initiative at Aruvikkara Dam site which was inaugurated by Mrs. Mini I, Panchayath President, Aruvikkara Grama Panchayath.A socio-economic survey was also organized by the NSS team to identify the problems which have been left unnoticed. The survey was conducted by NSS volunteers as a part of community service field visit in the tribal settlements in and around the Kottoor forest area to collect up-to-date information about the problems and potentials of the village and help in providing awareness programme on digital payment.

On the seventh day, LMCES Secretary Er. Philip John and our Principal DR V. Syam Prakash planted trees in the school premises and the camp closing ceremony was inaugurated by Ms.Shamila Begum, President, Aryanad Panchayath. Prof. Susanth S.G., NSS Programme Officer welcomed the gathering. The function was presided by Dr.V. Syam Prakash, Principal LMCST. Mr. Philip John, Secretary, LMCES and Smt. Girija, Aryanad Panchayath Member were invited guests of the function. Mr. Adarsh R Nair, S3 EC and Ms. Kaveri V S, S3 CS(B) were selected as the best male and female NSS volunteer and the “Rose Group” was judged and awarded as the “Best Project Group” as well as the “Best Group”. The meeting ended up with vote of thanks by Prof. Soorya S.R., Associate Programme Officer.

Mr. Devedutt, Mr. Ashkar Muhammed, Mr. Akhil Shajahan and Mr. Nokhil G.S. were actively participated in a blood donation camp at Mothers and child hospital, Thycaud on 25 th October 2016.NSS Technical cell of LMCST conducted a Punarjani project held at Nedumangad Govt. Hospital on 23th August 2016.Sixteen students accompanied by two staff members and programme officer Susanth S G took part in the project.The following list of items were rectified in the Hospital :15 hospital beds were painted,Changed wheels of two wheel chairs,2 Hospital shelves were painted,5 trip stands,10 Hopital beds were repaired
